Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
These detentions follow a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later discharged.
Officers arrested a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Authorities were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.
The assault - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
